- paperboy / newspaper delivery; it used to be a popular job for school kids, but now older people are doing it.
- Previously kids did newspaper deliveries in the afternoon after school. Now, people want the papers delivered earlier and adults (especially pensioners) are doing it.
- There was an economic boom so kids didn’t need extra money; kids prefer comfort; adults are more reliable.
- It was good experience for kids; it taught responsibility and built character; many young people now lack skills for work.
