- difficult / daunting → daunting is used to describe difficult jobs and tasks which have to be done, describing a situation where you feel you might not be able to finish / achieve something; difficult is more general in meaning and can apply to all situations which are not easy
- get used to / become accustomed to → become accustomed to is a more formal expression than get used to
