Read the definition of ' natural navigations'. Then look at photos 1-5. How do you think these things can help you work out which direction you are going in?

Answer

Photo 1:

  • You can work out the position of the sun by feeling the temperature on both sides of the rock.

Photo 2:

  • If you want to go south in the middle of the day, follow the sun.

Photo 3:

  • Spiders always build their webs on the north-east side of a building or wall or tree.

Photo 4:

  • You can use clouds to work out which direction to go in.

Photo 5:

  • The shapes of trees can tell us which way is north and which way is south.
