Question

Che cosa sai di Hitler? Quali paesi furono invasi dai nazisti? Quali gruppi di persone furono perseguitati?

Answer

  • Adolf Hitler was a German politician and leader of the Nazi Party. He rose to power as Chancellor of Germany in 1933 and later Führer in 1934. Hitler's aggressive foreign policies triggered World War II in 1939. He was responsible for numerous atrocities, including the Holocaust, in which six million Jews were systematically murdered.
  • During World War II, Nazi Germany invaded and occupied numerous countries across Europe. Some of the countries invaded by the Nazis include Poland, France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, Greece, Yugoslavia, and the Soviet Union.
  • The Nazis persecuted various groups of people based on their perceived racial, political, or social characteristics. The primary targets of Nazi persecution included Jews, Romani people (also known as Gypsies), people with disabilities, homosexuals, Jehovah's Witnesses, Slavs (especially Poles and Soviet civilians), political dissidents, and others deemed undesirable by the regime. This systematic persecution culminated in genocide, with millions of innocent people murdered in concentration camps, ghettos, and other sites of mass execution.
