Question

Do you know what a national park is? Do you know any national parks? Where are they?

Answer

A national park is a protected area set aside by a government for the preservation of its natural, cultural, or historical resources. These parks are typically established to conserve scenic landscapes, wildlife, and unique ecosystems for future generations to enjoy.

There are some really famous national parks around the world. Here are a few:

  • Yellowstone National Park: It's mostly in the U.S., spread across Wyoming, Montana, and Idaho. You've got to see it for its bubbling geysers and hot springs, plus all the cool animals like bears and bison.
  • Grand Canyon National Park: You'll find it in Arizona, USA. This place is all about the huge canyon carved out by the Colorado River. The views are jaw-dropping, and there are tons of great hikes.
  • Banff National Park: This one's in Alberta, Canada. It's Canada's oldest national park and is famous for its stunning mountains, crystal-clear lakes, and lots of wildlife.
  • Serengeti National Park: You'll find it in Tanzania, Africa. The Serengeti is famous for the annual wildebeest migration, which is a huge event in the animal kingdom.
  • Yosemite National Park: It's in California, USA. Yosemite is known for its massive granite cliffs, amazing waterfalls like Yosemite Falls, and ancient giant sequoia trees.
