- No, the speakers are talking about the culture of a place both speakers have visited (the people there / they).
- Positive feelings from the first speaker (amazing hospitality / loved ... the fact that they’ve managed to maintain their culture and traditions) More negative feelings from the second speaker – it must be difficult if you don’t conform / women are still looked down on and have fewer rights
