The solution for exercise 11 in chapter 5.1 - Vocabulary of Wider World 4 - Student's Book by Suzanne Gaynor, Kathryn Alevizos and Carolyn Barraclough
Question
Answer the questions.
Answer
The distance between Mars and Earth changes all the time - from over 50 to 401 million kilometres. It changes because the planets move all the time and they are in different positions.
It takes a lot of time because the distance is never short for a long time and because you can't travel in a straight line.
It would take the shortest time possible when you choose the time of the journey when the distance is shortest and when there are no obstacles on the way.
