NB Although these verbs and phrases are used as synonyms in this context, it's worth pointing out to Ss other contexts where some of them can be used:

- switch = change from one thing to another → He's switched jobs.; She can switch from Italian to English easily.
- grab = take hold of something suddenly → She grabbed my arm when she heard the scream.
- swap = exchange → Let's swap phone numbers.
