Dear Mr McCarter, I am writing to apply for the position of intern, as advertised on your website. I believe that my experience of the financial industry and social media, combined with my energy and enthusiasm will make me an attractive candidate to your rm. I have recently graduated from university, having obtained a first-class degree in business studies. I have a good understanding of the financial sector, having specialised in finance in the nal year of my course. I have always had an interest in figures and money, and hope to be able to obtain full-time work in the industry. As well as having a keen enthusiasm in financial services, I also have a great deal of experience working with social media. I have my own video channel where I produce regular videos giving financial tips to young people. This channel has gained a great deal of interest, with a current following of over 260,000 people. I have become proficient in exploiting social media in order to attract attention and gain more followers. Last year, I spent a summer as an intern at a marketing company. This was to gain further experience in selling products and services online. I was asked to research demand for a client’s product and was therefore instrumental in helping that company determine future steps. This experience taught me the importance of being organised, and communicating well with clients and consumers both face-to-face and online. I believe that with my knowledge of the nancial services and my knowledge of and experience in using social media to attract the attention of consumers, I will be a great asset to your organisation. The role would allow me the opportunity to gain vital experience within the industry I want to work in permanently, and for that reason I very much hope that you will consider me for the position.
