  • You can buy second-hand things in charity shops, jumble sales, markets, car boot sales and online through websites that specialise in second-hand goods. Buying electronic goods (computers, etc.) second- hand may be a bad idea because you don’t know if they will work and often they are out of date.
  • Many people buy second-hand cars because new ones are very expensive.
  • Kids grow out of clothes quickly, so buying second- hand clothes is a popular option, but some people don’t like the idea of wearing clothes that once belonged to other people.
  • Books are commonly sold second-hand.
