The four sentences below are from the story. Check you understand the words in bold. Then work in pairs. Discuss the order you expect to read the sentences in. Explain your ideas.

- floating = supported on water, air, etc. (usually used of something very light, e.g. a leaf was floating on the water)
- edge = where something ends (e.g. the edge of a table, the edge of a cliff)
