1 - We change the order of the sentence, fronting nouns or phrases we wish to emphasise or focus on:
- It + conjugated form of to be + X + subordinate clause
- What + subordinate clause + conjugated form of to be + X
- All + subordinate clause + conjugated form + X
- 2 - It’s ... / what ... / all they did ... / the thing that ...
- 3 - is / was (verb to be) (that) / (all they) did / is the fact that
- 4 - In order to focus on how we feel / the cause / the action, etc. ...
