Mindfulness therapy can help people suffering from depression. It can break the downward spiral of depressed moods accompanied by negative thoughts. The negative thoughts that come with the bad moods spark neural connections and thus future mood swings can trigger symptoms of depression. Mindfulness can stop this by helping sufferers become more aware of patterns of thought.
Western medicine has been good at eradicating infectious diseases, which has increased life expectancy a lot and has improved mortality. Western medicine is only really any good at dealing with people in excruciating pain or with something life-threatening. It’s not so good at dealing with those who have low-level complaints.
Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) helps them more. TCM is also better at relieving minor conditions.
