Question

Imagine you are a student in New York Harbor School. Write an email to your English speaking friend describing it.

Answer

Location: in the city vs in New York Harbor

Curriculum: normal school subjects vs particular water skills and maritime subjects and lots of lessons outside

Students: over 1000 vs 400

Teachers: probably similar

Activities: regular school activities, e.g. concerts, school plays, sports events vs scuba diving, charity sailing regatta, oyster farming, etc

My school is in the city whereas the NYHS is on an island in New York Harbor. At my school we follow the national curriculum which includes normal school subjects such as Maths, History, Geography, etc but at the NYHS they also learn practical water skills and maritime subjects. They also have a lot of their lessons outside while at my school almost all of our lessons are indoors. There are over 1000 students at my school but the NYHS has only 400. I think the teachers are probably similar in a lot of ways. However, at the NYHS they have a lot of interesting activities such as scuba diving, a charity sailing regatta and oyster farming, but at my school we just have regular school activities such as concerts, school plays and sports events.
