Musicians don’t make much money from the sales of their records if fewer people are buying them and instead, downloading them for free. Also, they have to work longer and harder because they have to go on tour.
Various European governments have introduced laws for copyright protection. They are targeting the people who upload copyrighted material onto the Internet. They have introduced fines and prison sentences. They are trying to prevent people from copying music and films so others cannot download it.
