Huge storm clouds started to appear in the sky as we set out. We were travelling to visit my aunt who lived in the countryside as we were looking forward to seeing her.
Soon it started to rain heavily so we had to drive very slowly because we could hardly see the road in front of us. The other cars on the motorway were driving slowly, too.
Just then, thick smoke started to come out of the engine and the car stopped. We put on the hazard lights and manage to roll into the emergency lane. We were very upset and scared. We didn't want to be stranded in the middle of a storm on the motorway. Luckily, I had brought my mobile phone and we called a breakdown service.
They arrived quickly and took us all the way to my aunt's house. We were very glad to be safe and sound.
