Read the joke and the theory. What are the pronouns in the joke: reflective? emphatic? Give reasons.
Answer
- yourself = reflexive (the subject & object are the same person) and emphatic (the speaker is emphasising that he is talking to himself and no one else)
- myself = reflexive (the speaker is referring to himself as the subject and the object of the sentence)
