Work in pairs. Imagine you went on a trip with a friend and some things went wrong. Use the prompts below and / or your own ideas and the language in the box to act out a dialogue similar to the one in Ex. 1b.

Answer

A: How was your trip, Jane?

B: Not so good, I'm afraid.

A: Oh really? How come?

B: Well, I went on a walk on the first day and I fell over and twisted my ankle.

A: Oh dear that's awful! So what did you do?

B: Well, I limped back to the campsite, but then in the night a bear came and stole my food from outside the tent.

A: You're kidding!

B: No, I'm not. To make matters worse, the next night it rained and the tent got flooded.

A: Unbelievable! That's too bad!
