  1. Choose the correct word.
  2. Collect information about another planet. Present it to the class.

Answer

  1. 1) planet; 2) system; 3) atmosphere; 4) moons; 5) telescope; 6) robot; 7) evidence
  2. Venus is the second planet from the Sun. It gets its name from the Roman goddess of love. It is also known as the 'morning star' or the 'evening star' because we can see it best from Earth just before sunrise and just after sunset. It is similar in size to Earth, but it has got a heavy atmosphere which is 96% carbon dioxide and so the surface is always covered in thick clouds. It is very hot with a surface temperature of 462°C. The surface is dry desert and any oceans which may have existed dried up millions of years ago because of the heat.
