A holiday where everything went wrong

It was a beautiful day when my family and I arrived in France. The sun was shining and a light breeze was blowing. We were sure it was going to be a wonderful holiday!

When we arrived at the hotel though, we got a terrible shock. It was rundown and shabby and the pool was filthy. Then when we went inside to check in, things got even worse!

The receptionist told us that the four of us had to share one bedroom. After we saw the room we groaned miserably. There were insects on the floor and the bed sheets looked dirty.

Finally, Dad said, "I'm buying a tent and we're going to a campsite next to the beach." We felt happy and relieved that we didn’t have to stay in that awful hotel.
