In Spain, Carnival is just as important a festival as it is in Venice, especially in Cadiz. The Venice Carnival has a longer history than the Cadiz Carnival. However, the celebration was banned for about as long as it was in Venice. Today, people wear costumes, choirs sing and music groups preform. It attracts as many visitors as the Venice Carnival and it is one of the most popular festivals in Spain.
