Question
Read the model. Answer the questions.
Answer
The essay is about the problem of air pollution. It is stated in paragraph 1.
The writer suggests that people use public transport instead of their cars, to plant more trees in urban areas, and to turn off lights and appliances when we don’t need them.
By using public transport instead of cars there would be less exhaust fumes and air pollution levels would be reduced. Planting more trees in urban areas will make the air in our cities cleaner. Since power stations contribute to air pollution, turning off lights and appliances will help save energy and reduce pollution.
Paragraph 5 summarises the writer's opinion.
The style the essay is written in is informal. The author used the first person point of view. (I, we). It takes a personal tone as if speaking directly to an audience.
