Question

  1. The pictures show some possible ways to save energy at school. In pairs complete the sentences.
  2. Listen to a pair suggesting ways to save energy at school. What reasons do they give? Do you agree with them? Why / Why not? What would happen if we adopted the ideas above.

Answer

a)

  1. turn off lights
  2. energy-saving ones
  3. put stickers
  4. turning on the air-conditioning
  5. install solar panels

b)

Putting stickers on the computers is a good suggestion because it would make them shut their computers down and save energy. Installing solar panels was suggested because the school wouldn’t waste any energy or money for heating or hot water in the future. I agree with their decisions. I think it’s a great idea to make sure everyone shuts their computers down as it would save a lot of energy. Installing solar panels is a good suggestion because it provides a long-term solution to energy waste.
