  1. The characteristics that make seahorses fish are their gills, swim bladder and fins.
  2. Seahorses reproduce by the female putting her eggs inside the male. The male then fertilises the eggs inside his body and carries them until he gives birth to live young.
  3. The Knysna seahorse is an endangered species because it is only found in three estuaries in the world and, unless these are conserved, it will become extinct.
