- 1661: Sweden became the first country to use banknotes. 110: The number of bank robberies in Sweden in 2008. 16: The number of bank robberies in Sweden in 2011. 20%: Under 20% of Kenyans have a bank account. 95%: Over 95% of Kenyans have a mobile phone.
- Elderly people (as they may need some help with the technology) and small businesses (as they have to pay a little money to the bank each time somebody pays them using a card).
- It saves time (as they no longer need to travel long distances to pay a bill). There is less danger of being robbed as people carry less cash.
