- What kind of singer is Hema?
- Why is Hema so famous?
- Is it OK for actors in films not to sing? Should people like Hema be more famous? Why/Why not?
Answer
- Hema is a playback singer. She records the songs that other actors use in their films. The actors mime the songs, but you hear Hema’s voice not theirs.
- Hema has recorded songs for over sixty Bollywood films and she’s had a few successful albums. She’s been in shows all over India, visited lots of different countries and sang to an audience of three million people when India celebrated its independence.
