USE

  1. To talk about finished states, events, and actions that took place at a specific time in the past.
  2. To describe completed actions which happened in sequence.

The popsicle

  • Frank Epperson was just 11 years old when he invented the delicious summertime snack, the popsicle. (1)
  • More than 18 years later, Epperson patented the idea under 'Eppsicle... (1)

The trampoline

  • George Nissen invented the trampoline in 1930 at the age of 16. (1)
