  1. The UNHCR has received a mandate to prevent and reduce statelessness around the world, as well as to protect the rights of stateless people.
  2. The Statelessness Mandate has the following targets: identify stateless populations, prevent the occurrence of statelessness, reduce statelessness, and protect and assist stateless persons.
  3. The UNHCR's #Belong Campaign aims at promoting the right to a nationality, identity, and birth registration for stateless people, setting out 10 Global Actions states should undertake to end statelessness by 2024.
  4. The following Sustainable Development Goals are the most relevant in helping to solve the problem of statelessness: Goals 5 (Gender Equality), 10 (Reduced Inequalities), and 16 (Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions), along with some related Targets.
