  1. Full Stop: At the end of a declarative sentence: "She went to the store."
  2. Comma: To separate items in a list: "Apples, oranges, and bananas." ; To separate clauses in a sentence: "He was tired, but he kept working."
  3. Semicolon: To connect closely related independent clauses: "She likes coffee; he prefers tea."
  4. Colon: Before a list or explanation: "Please bring the following items: pen, paper, and a notebook." ; In time expressions: "The meeting is at 3:00."
  5. Question Mark: At the end of an interrogative sentence: "Did you finish your homework?"
  6. Exclamation Mark: To express strong emotion or surprise: "What a beautiful sunset!"
  7. Brackets: To enclose additional information within a sentence: "The event (scheduled for next week) was canceled."
  8. Apostrophe: To indicate possession: "John's car" or contraction: "It's a beautiful day."
  9. Hyphen: To join words in a compound word: "Well-known," "High-quality." In certain prefixes: "Sister-in-law," "Co-worker."
