Listen to Jen talking about an experiment which explores how we form first impressions and answer the questions.

Answer

  1. She had to look at some photos of people, read short info about them and remember the faces. Three days later, she had to look at them again for less than a second and categorise them as trustworthy or untrustworthy.
  2. They had to do the same but were given much more time to complete the experiment.
  3. The experiment showed that when we have very little time we judge people by appearances but when we have more time, we judge them by other facts / information.
