- Carlos Acosta: Born in 1973 in Colombia. Principal guest artist with the Royal Ballet. He's won many awards and tours around the world.
- Antônio Carlos Jobim: Born in 1927 in Brazil, died in 1994. Songwriter and composer. Wrote The Girl from panema, one of the most recorded songs of all time.
- Eva Perón: Born in 1919 in Argentina, died in 1952. Married to Juan Perón, she was the first lady of Argentina. A strong supporter of labour rights who also ran several charitable organisations.
- Frida Kahlo: Born in 1907 in Mexico, died in 1954. Painter. Her work is considered as emblematic of national and indigenous tradition.
- Mario Vargas Llosa: Born in 1936 in Peru. Writer, journalist and essayist. Won the 2010 Nobel Prize for literature.
